We are delighted to announce that the Legal Education Foundation is funding JustRight Scotland over the next 2 years to develop our cross-sector collaborative social model. This exciting award provides a basis for new collaborative projects to come on board!
The Legal Education Foundations’s charitable purpose is “to promote the advancement of legal education and the study of the law in all its branches”. It does this by making grants to a wide variety of mostly charitable organisations working in different social, professional and academic settings and by commissioning research.
Critically, The Legal Education Foundation are also supporting us to fund a newly qualified lawyer to work with our partners at the British Red Cross, including on our forthcoming Asylum Support Legal Service.
We are proud to support their mission of creating access to social justice opportunities within the sector. We aim to begin recruitment later in the year so keep an eye on our website for an opportunity to become part of our team!
The Legal Education Foundation, along with Unbound Philanthropy (more about how they are supporting JustRight Scotland tomorrow), funded our Director Kirsty Thomson to attend a learning exchange in Washington DC in March 2015 with other social justice leaders from the UK and the US. The exchange covered advocacy, civic engagement, and legal services delivery. We are delighted to be implementing this learning through JustRight Scotland as well as continuing our relationship with them in the social justice field.
